Governors Battle Jefferson County On The Road
Gov Nation Network · February 23, 2026
The William Blount girls basketball team traveled to Jefferson County for a road matchup and came away with a hard-fought game from start to finish. Both teams traded stretches of good defense, and the Governors stayed in the fight by playing physical on the boards and pushing the pace when they got the chance.
William Blount showed good effort on both ends, with several players stepping up to keep possessions alive and contest shots. The team's ball movement in the halfcourt led to a few good looks, and the bench brought energy throughout the night.
Coach and players will look at this game as another step in building toward the postseason stretch. The Governors will look to clean up some finishing around the rim and carry the defensive effort into their next outing.
No final score was clearly announced for this game.
