Governors Rally Past Hardin Valley 8-4 In Game Two
Gov Nation Network · March 28, 2026
William Blount picked up its second win of the day at Charlie Puleo Field, beating a tough Hardin Valley team 8-4 after trailing briefly in the middle innings. The Governors got on the board early with a run-scoring double from Noah Hardin and an RBI hit from Drew Campbell, then added another run in the third on a single from Jackson Maurer that brought home Tyson Moncivaiz.
Hardin Valley answered with a four-run fourth inning that included a close call at third base, taking a 4-3 lead. But William Blount did not fold. Carson Hard, who had a grand slam in the first game of the day, delivered again with a two-run double in the fourth to put the Governors back in front 5-4. The bottom of the fifth was the difference, with Lucas Myers drawing a bases-loaded walk and Gavin Wilson lacing an RBI single as the Governors pulled away.
Ty Goins added an RBI single in the sixth to make it 8-4, and Noah Hardin worked through the rough patch on the mound to help close it out. Mark Sackerman and Jackson Maurer both had solid days at the plate and behind it, and the defense turned a handful of tough chopper plays into outs late.
William Blount finished the day 2-0 and heads into a busy stretch, starting Monday at home against Maryville.
