Governors Pitching and Timely Hits Down Collins 6-2
Gov Nation Network · April 2, 2026
William Blount beat Collins 6-2 at Charlie Puleo Field, riding strong work on the mound and just enough offense to build a comfortable cushion. The Governors scored in each of the first four innings, mixing in a walk-in run, a sacrifice fly, a couple of base hits and some hustle on the bases to go up 6-0 before Collins answered with two runs in the top of the fifth.
Noah Hardin started and worked four scoreless innings before that fifth-inning trouble, allowing just a couple of hits and keeping the Titans off balance with a heavy dose of pickoff throws that kept Collins runners close. Mason Mikles came on in relief and shut the door, striking out the final batter with the bases empty to seal it.
Carson Hard had the best night at the plate for the Governors, working deep counts, ripping a leadoff double and driving in a run with a single to center. Tycen Moncivaiz added a run-scoring hit and made a nice catch at the plate late, while Ty Goins drove in a run with a sacrifice fly. Jackson Maurer caught a strong game behind the plate for Hardin and Mikles.
The Governors were right back at it the next night at 7:15 against Monroe County.
