Governors Baseball Squares Off With The Kings Academy
Gov Nation Network · April 17, 2026
The William Blount baseball team hosted The Kings Academy at Charlie Puleo Field this week in a Blount County matchup that drew a solid crowd out to watch the Governors compete. Final numbers from the game were not available, but the two sides played a full nine innings under a clear spring evening.
Without box score details on hand, the takeaway for Governors fans is simple: the team kept battling and gave everyone in the stands innings worth watching. Coach's staff has emphasized situational baseball all spring, and games like this one against a solid Kings Academy squad are part of building toward the postseason push.
With a roster that includes arms like Jake Farmer, Chandler Tyler and Nolan Maples, along with bats up and down the lineup from Tycen Moncivaiz to Nate Ownby, the Governors have shown they can compete with anybody on their schedule. Blount County will be watching to see how the team rounds into form as the season moves toward its stretch run.
No word yet on the Governors' next scheduled matchup, but fans can expect updates as the schedule continues.
