Governors Fall To Seymour Despite Late Push
Gov Nation Network · April 21, 2026
William Blount lost to Seymour 13-7 at Charlie Puleo Field in a game that started as a scoreless pitchers' duel before Seymour broke it open with two straight five-run innings. Seymour's Brillan Williams, Austin Brown and Reese Wilson all drove in runs during that stretch, including a pair of three-run home runs, and the Eagles kept finding gaps in the William Blount defense most of the night.
The Governors did not go quietly. Gavin Wilson delivered a two-run double off the wall in the sixth, and Tyson Moncivaiz added a sacrifice fly in the seventh to make it a one-score deficit for a stretch. Jake Farmer worked out of trouble early before Seymour's bats got to him, and Chandler Tyler came on in relief and turned in a strong inning to keep the Governors within reach. Karson Hard reached base and scored, and Nate Ownby and Noah Hardin both hit the ball hard throughout the night even when it found gloves.
William Blount loaded the bases in the seventh with two outs looking for the tying swing, but could not come through. The Governors turn around quickly with a home game against Maryville next, followed by a home matchup with Union County to close out the regular season.
