Governors Rout Union County 11-1 On Senior Night
Gov Nation Network · April 24, 2026
William Blount closed out its home season in style, beating Union County 11-1 in five innings under the mercy rule at Charlie Puleo Field. The Governors scored early and often, putting up six runs in the first inning and adding to the lead every inning after that.
The big inning came right away. Karson Hard scored on a wild throw to open the scoring, and Jackson Maurer, Nate Ownby, Lucas Crisp and Hard himself all added run-scoring hits in that first frame to make it 6-0 before Union County came to bat a second time. Union County got its only run back in the third, but William Blount answered right away in the bottom of the inning.
Tycen Moncivaiz put a charge into the crowd with a two-run home run to left-center in the third, and Hard followed that up an inning later with a two-run shot of his own, pushing the lead to double digits and setting up the early finish. Noah Hardin was steady on the mound all night, holding Union County to one run on five hits to close out his outing.
With the win, the Governors wrap up the regular season on Charlie Puleo Field and turn their attention to the district tournament, which is set to begin next week.
